Communication

Hillcrest Primary School values regular communication between home and school. Information is shared in a number of ways.

Newsletters

Our school e-newsletter is produced fortnightly on Thursdays. The Newsletter contains full-colour photos, hyperlinks and downloads as well as all the information at your fingertips. Every effort is made to provide all information about class and whole school activities as well as upcoming events through this newsletter. We urge all families to read the newsletter to remain informed of any details and activities which may involve your child.

Seesaw

All our classes use Seesaw (http://seesaw.me), a secure online journal where students can document what they are learning in class. Students can add the things they work on (including photos, videos, worksheets, drawings and voice recordings) to their Seesaw journal and share them privately with you, and other family members, to view and comment on.

Seesaw is used by all teachers to create a powerful learning loop between students, teachers, and families. Students use Seesaw to share work with their families. Teachers use Seesaw to provide ongoing feedback and support to students. Families connect and gain a window into their student’s learning and engage with school happenings.

Facebook

Our school has a Facebook page. This is a great way of getting up-to-date information regarding what is happening at school. Search for ‘Hillcrest Primary School Community’.

School Association

Our School Association, with elected family and staff representatives, assists the Principal with school decision making. At the beginning of each year teacher and community representatives are elected to the School Association. This group advises the Principal on general policy and provides a forum for considering issues affecting the school and its community. Members of the school community are welcome to attend the Association meetings which are held each month. Dates and times are put in the newsletter.
